Welcome to the Snoring Blog! It is our intention with this blog to offer visitors a full understanding of what snoring is and how it can be overcome through breathing exercises. Snoring is a breathing disorder that affects a large portion of the Western world. Snoring affects the quantity and quality of a person’s sleep as well as that of their partner’s.
People who snore breathe loudly and heavily which translates into over-breathing and an excessive breathing volume. Snoring occurs when a large volume of air is breathed through narrow airways, resulting in the vibration of respiratory structures at the back of the throat, causing noisy, inefficient breathing.
Over time, snoring can lead to the development of obstructive sleep apnoea, an often dangerous condition which prevents the flow of air to and from the lungs during sleep. As a result of this overly heavy breathing, the walls of the airways collapse and the sleeper unconsciously holds their breath. This effect usually wakes the individual up, causing poor sleep and, in some cases, severely reducing oxygen delivery to the brain.
Snoring.ie was founded to provide a physician developed and non-invasive solution to stop snoring, sleep apnoea and insomnia through its courses and books.
